Books have always been a source of comfort for me. As a lash technician, I spend hours at a time working on my clients, and while many of my colleagues turn to music or podcasts to fill the silence, I’ve always found solace in books.
In the early days of my career, I would often read during my breaks or on the commute to and from work. But I longed for more. I wanted to be able to discuss the books I was reading with other people who shared my passion for literature. That’s when the idea for my book club was born.
At first, I wasn’t sure how many people would be interested but after talking to my clients about it, many of them expressed an interest in joining. So I decided to create an online group for the book club and invited anyone who was interested to join.
Each month, we will choose a new book to read and discuss, with our conversations ranging from the plot and characters to the broader themes and ideas presented in the book. Members have the option of attending book club meetings in person at Lashstrology or remotely via Instagram live.
As our book club grows, I look forward to the chance to connect with like-minded people and have meaningful conversations about something that we all love, literature. One of the things I love most about my book club is the diversity of perspectives and experiences that our members will be able to bring to the table. We come from all walks of life and backgrounds, but our shared love of reading brings us together in a way that’s truly special.
Starting my book club has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s given me a community of people who share my passion for literature, and it’s made me feel more connected to the world around me. And the best part? I no longer have to listen to low vibrational music or true crime podcasts while I work – I have my books to keep me company.

HOW IT WORKS
The book club is driven by a schedule of social media moments throughout each month here, on our blog, YouTube and Instagram. New selections are announced on the first of every month, with an in-person and IG live or Zoom chat held at the end of the month
